Why has he not at least alerted his constituents of the high-speed rail system that is being fast-tracked by his government?<\/p>\n Public consultation by Crown corporation Alto was held for two days in Ottawa in January. One wonders why.<\/p>\n SHIRLEY DOLAN<\/p>\n WOODLAWN<\/p>\n TIME FOR CARNEY TO STEP UP<\/p>\n Re: JAY GOLDBERG: Stephen Harper proved Canada\u2019s current debt crisis was avoidable, online, Feb. 12<\/p>\n You will remember that it was Conservative Stephen Harper and his finance minister, Jim Flaherty, who stickhandled Canada through the 2008-2009 global financial crisis and left office with a balanced budget.<\/p>\n You will also remember that Mark Carney, who was governor of the Bank of Canada at the time of the crisis, took credit for the hard work done by Harper and Flaherty.<\/p>\n After 10 years of inept Liberal financial management (think the budget will balance itself), Canada now has a deficit of $78.3 billion. It is clearly time for Carney to step up and take ownership of this Liberal-created mess and do the hard work of balancing the budget. Or is it propaganda? Online, Jan. 16<\/p>\n How absolutely pathetic are Heritage Minister Marc Miller\u2019s \u201csocial cohesion\u201d statements. He expects us to only trust his version of \u201ctrustworthy\u201d sources of information.
