He led the team to three American League West titles and six playoff appearances over his tenure. He was named AL Manager of the Year on two occasions with the team.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A native of Palo Alto, CA, Melvin most recently managed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/san-francisco-giants\/250\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/san-francisco-giants\/250\" target=\"_blank\">San Francisco Giants<\/a> in 2024 and 2025, dismissed last fall after a third-place finish in the National League West.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Having also managed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/seattle-mariners\/236\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/seattle-mariners\/236\" target=\"_blank\">Seattle Mariners<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/arizona-diamondbacks\/253\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/arizona-diamondbacks\/253\" target=\"_blank\">Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/san-diego-padres\/249\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/mlb\/team-page\/san-diego-padres\/249\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Padres<\/a>, Melvin has an all-time record of 1,678-1,588 (.514) across 22 seasons.
