Apple TV+ has set a March 4th premiere date for the French drama series \u201cThe Hunt\u201d following a controversy surrounding the series being resolved.<\/p>\n

Originally slated to release in December last year, the project was abruptly pulled by its production company Gaumont who investigated claims the project might have been plagiarised.<\/p>\n

An investigation found plot similarities between the project and Douglas Fairbairn\u2019s 1973 novel \u201cShoot\u201d which was also made into a film in 1976.<\/p>\n

Gaumont has now released a statement about the investigation: \u201cAs soon as this information came to its attention, Gaumont, the series\u2019 producer, immediately took the necessary steps to identify the rights holders and obtain the required authorisations. Respect for works and authors\u2019 rights is a fundamental principle for Gaumont, which can only be exercised with the trust and transparency of creative artists.\u201d<\/p>\n

Created by C\u00e9dric Anger, the series follows Franck (Beno\u00eet Magimel) and his hunting buddies, who, one day encounter another group of hunters who start targeting them without explanation.<\/p>\n

When one of their party is shot, Franck\u2019s friends strike back, sending an attacker to the ground. Barely managing to escape, the four friends keep the event a secret. <\/p>\n

Franck tries to go back to his life as usual alongside his wife Krystel (Laurent), but in the next few days, he starts to feel like he and his friends are being watched, or worse, tracked by hunters hell-bent on revenge.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
