Jennifer Aniston<\/a>\u2018s boyfriend Jim Curtis<\/a> is opening up about their communication style.<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old hypnotherapist appeared on a recent episode of the Ced with Intention podcast<\/a> where he detailed how he and the 57-year-old Friends actress deal with \u201cflare-ups\u201d in their relationship.<\/p>\n

Keep reading to find out more\u2026\u201cI spend a lot of time with my girlfriend. We spend a lot of time in the house together. Sometimes, we can have little things that flare up,\u201d Jim shared. \u201cWe have the opportunity to be silent and be angry, [we] could leave the house, think about it and meditate on how to change it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOr we can say, \u2018Hey, this is what happened, I\u2019m sorry,\u2019 and do the repair, and then go and really work on making sure it happens less or doesn\u2019t happen again,\u201d he explained. \u201cBecause once you make a repair and it just happens five more times, no one trusts it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jim also noted that in a relationship, \u201cthere has to be some agreement\u201d between partners about putting in equal effort.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this relationship, you can\u2019t be emotionally closed off while I\u2019m doing all the work,\u201d he explained. \u201cWe both have to work on ourselves. I can\u2019t fix you, you can\u2019t fix me. But we have to at least be in agreement, \u2018This is gonna happen when we have this discussion.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Jim continued, \u201cWe\u2019ve had discussions where, before anything bad happens, \u2018In this situation, do you need time? Do you need 10 minutes to yourself to think about it, or do you want to get into it immediately? Is it OK if we sleep overnight, or are you the type of person who, if you go to bed angry, it\u2019s really painful for you?\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI think there needs to be, especially in a romantic relationship, you need to pregame the rules to this thing that you\u2019re doing,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

If you didn\u2019t know, Jennifer and Jim have been romantically linked since summer 2025 and made their relationship Instagram official in September<\/a>. They also spent the Thanksgiving holiday together<\/a>. <\/p>\n
