After dropping the first set 6-2, Anisimova rallied to win the next two sets 7-5, 7-6.<\/p>\n
The American has recovered from illness to set up a semi-final meeting with her compatriot Jessica Pegula.<\/p>\n
By defeating Andreeva in the quarter-finals, Anisimova made history for American tennis.<\/p>\n

With her latest win in Dubai, the American has now reached the semi-finals of a WTA 1000 event for the fourth time in her career.<\/p>\n
Her other semi-final appearances came at the Canadian Open, Qatar Open, and China Open.<\/p>\n
In that context, Anisimova became the first American woman to reach her first four WTA 1000 semi-finals outside of the United States, according to OptaAce.<\/p>\n
With victories at the WTA 1000 events in Qatar and the China Open in 2025, the Florida native has climbed significantly in the rankings.<\/p>\n
Anisimova defeated Jelena Ostapenko in Doha to win her first Masters title, then followed it up with another victory over Linda Noskova in Beijing.<\/p>\n
The only blemish on her WTA 1000 final record so far is a loss to Pegula, who beat her in last year\u2019s Canadian Open.<\/p>\n
Amanda Anisimova will need to make career history to reach the Dubai Final<\/p>\n
The two Americans are only one place apart in the WTA rankings, with Pegula sitting at number five.<\/p>\n
However, Anisimova is still searching for her first win over the 31-year-old in four attempts on the WTA Tour.<\/p>\n
Pegula extended her perfect record against the 24-year-old star with a win in their most recent meeting at the Australian Open quarter-final.<\/p>\n
