{"id":488109,"date":"2026-02-20T17:37:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T17:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/488109\/"},"modified":"2026-02-20T17:37:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T17:37:07","slug":"veteran-american-receiver-dominique-rhymes-retires-after-eight-cfl-campaigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/488109\/","title":{"rendered":"Veteran American receiver Dominique Rhymes retires after eight CFL campaigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Dominique Rhymes is retiring after eight CFL seasons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The veteran American receiver confirmed his retirement to The Canadian Press on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The six-foot-four, 215-pound Rhymes registered three 1,000-yard campaigns over his career in Canada.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Last year, he averaged a career-best 17.7-yards per reception with the Calgary Stampeders (50 catches, 886 yards, six touchdowns) before becoming a free agent Feb. 10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Rhymes, 32, has registered 372 career catches for 5,822 yards with 32 TDs in 110 regular-season contests with Ottawa (2017-19, 2024), B.C.
