A TTC employee has been suspended and faces criminal charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a\u00a0female coworker \u201cnumerous\u00a0times.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Toronto Police have not\u00a0identified\u00a0the\u00a0accused\u00a0man\u2019s employer, the Toronto Transit Commission has\u00a0confirmed\u00a0authorities were contacted after a female employee complained about serious workplace \u201cmisconduct\u201d allegedly by a male co-worker.<\/p>\n

The incident\u00a0allegedly\u00a0occurred on TTC property.<\/p>\n
TTC CEO Mandeep Lali sent out a letter to all employees stating \u201cthe TTC has taken swift action regarding a serious personal matter within our organization.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon learning of allegations of misconduct,\u00a0the TTC acted immediately to remove an individual from the workplace and any access to it\u00a0and our systems.\u201d<\/p>\n
A senior TTC staffer confirmed that detectives who investigate sexual assault cases were notified.<\/p>\n
As soon as it was brought to Lali\u2019s attention, the TTC\u2019s new leader took immediate action and the employee was suspended.<\/p>\n

The allegations against Shaik have not yet been proven in court.<\/p>\n

Investigators have released an image of the accused\u00a0out of concern for the possibility of other alleged victims.<\/p>\n
