Ryan Garcia, known as \u201cKingRy,\u201d attempts to finally hold gold when he challenges Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title. The fight in Las Vegas airs on DAZN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Garcia (24-2) has become one of boxing\u2019s biggest stars when it comes to social media. The 27-year-old has plenty of power, with twenty wins via knockout. This is his third attempt at winning gold. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Garcia failed to capture gold against Devin Haney after issues with a drug test and missing weight. He also got dropped against Rolando Romero for a belt. Now, Garcia hopes the third time is the charm as he begins a new chapter in his career, with his dad by his side as his head coach.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat it means to me in my heart is to win this title for my dad because I know how much that will mean to him more,\u201d Garcia said via The Sun<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m definitely gonna hold this proudly, I\u2019m gonna be flexing it like all these other guys.<\/p>\n

Barrios (29-2-2) beat Yordenis Ugas for interim gold and later became the full-time champion. Despite holding onto gold, he\u2019s gone 0-0-2 against Abel Ramos and Manny Pacquiao.<\/p>\n

With former Garcia trainer Joe Goossen by his side and motivated to prove he deserves to hold gold, Barrios is ready to take Garcia down.<\/p>\n

\u201cI bring the experience \u2013 I have more tools in my arsenal, and there\u2019s more to my style,\u201d Barrios said via BoxingScene<\/a>. \u201cThere\u2019s a couple things [Garcia] does very well that have brought him to this point, but with that being said, that\u2019s also why he hasn\u2019t been able to get over that hump.<\/p>\n
