The Heels got on the board through newcomer Joschi Shelb. <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/mens-soccer\/roster\/bertil-rygaard-hansen\/26659\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"26659\" target=\"_blank\">Bertil Rygaard Hansen<\/a> scored the eventual game winner to give the Heels a 2-0 lead before Wake Forest pulled one back.<\/p>\n<p>Shelb&#8217;s goal came on a nice header off an assist from <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/mens-soccer\/roster\/abubaker-mayanja\/27414\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"27414\" target=\"_blank\">Abubaker Mayanja<\/a>, then Shelb provided the helper on Rygaard Hansen&#8217;s finish. <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/mens-soccer\/roster\/alan-rutkowski\/26680\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"26680\" target=\"_blank\">Alan Rutkowski<\/a> started a new era in goal, taking over for long time starter <a href=\"https:\/\/goheels.com\/sports\/mens-soccer\/roster\/andrew-cordes\/26656\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"26656\" target=\"_blank\">Andrew Cordes<\/a>. Rutkowski was comfortable claiming crosses and delivered a few nice saves to keep the Heels on top.
