Read: Air Transat cancels all U.S. flights starting this spring after WestJet cuts service<\/a><\/p>\n This marks the latest cutback in Canada\u2013U.S. air service, as demand for travel south of the border remains soft amid the current U.S. administration.<\/p>\n Is Canada stopping flights to the US?<\/p>\n The announcement was first reported by Ishrion Aviation, detailing that Air Canada\u2019s seasonal route, originally set to launch on May 1, currently shows no booking availability on Air Canada\u2019s website.<\/p>\n The airline has suspended flights between Montr\u00e9al\u2013Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Airbus A220-300 jets.<\/p>\n Check out: New Montreal YUL airport parking lot open with 1,000 additional spaces<\/a><\/p>\n According to a report by Ailevon Pacific, Air Transat will halt all its U.S. flights in June, 2026.<\/p>\n And WestJet suspended 16 routes to 10 U.S. cities, including Nashville, San Francisco, and Seattle, due to declining demand.<\/p>\n Why are so many flights being cancelled in the USA?<\/p>\n According to Statistics Canada, return trips to Canada by residents from the U.S. plunged to 1.6 million last month\u2014a 24.3 per cent drop compared with January 2025.<\/p>\n The agency noted that most of the decline came from automobile travel, which fell 26.8 per cent to 1.1 million trips, while air travel slipped 17.8 per cent to 493,400 trips.<\/p>\n RECOMMENDED:
