LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) \u2013\u00a0The\u00a0UNLV\u00a0women’s\u00a0tennis\u00a0team snapped a two-match losing skid to earn a hard-fought 4-2 win over Gonzaga on Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. Singles competition

\nThe Rebels, who lost a pair of 4-3 heart-breakers to Big 12 opponents, improved to 4-2 while the Bulldogs, who came in 3-0 vs. Mountain West opponents this season (by a combined score of 12-2), fell to 5-4.

\nUNLV has won the doubles point in every match this season, including on Sunday. Veronika Kliuch<\/a> and Eszter Kis-Czako<\/a> won 6-2 over Elizabeth Tindera and Diana Yanotovskaya at the second spot before Sofiia Sokolvak<\/a> and Kaho Oyama<\/a> clinched it, 6-4, over Emily Robertson and Karla Brown on court three.

\nIn singles play, Kliuch was off in a blink of an eye with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Yanotovskaya at the top of the lineup. The Zags won the next two points to tie the overall match but Hudson Hawkins<\/a> downed Rose Hayes, 6-1, 6-7, 6-0, at No. 3 and Adi Bitton<\/a> fought off Brooke Bittner, 7-6, 6-4, to end it on court six.

\nREBEL OF THE MATCH: Kliuch was clutch, helping secure the doubles point and then racing to a straight-set win in singles to make it 2-0. The sophomore improved to 6-0 in duals and 13-2 overall in singles.
