Manchester United<\/a> midfield starlet Dan Gore is set to spend another season at Rotherham United, returning on loan for the 2025\/26 campaign after his previous stint was curtailed by an injury.<\/p>\n

Gore, who previously made headlines for a training ground altercation with Anthony Martial<\/a>, initially joined the Millers in January. However, he managed only three appearances across all competitions before a foot fracture halted his progress.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old midfielder, who has long been tipped for a breakthrough at Old Trafford<\/a>, has yet to make his mark in senior football.<\/p>\n

He will be keen to showcase his abilities during his second spell at Rotherham and fight his way into Ruben Amorim<\/a>‘s thinking.<\/p>\n

United announced: “Dan Gore has completed a second successive loan move to Rotherham United and is set to spend the 2025\/26 season with the Millers.<\/p>\n

“In January, he joined Rotherham for the first time and made three appearances as the South Yorkshire side finished 13th in League One. He’ll now hope to build on that in his second spell at the New York Stadium. Good luck, Dan!”<\/p>\n

Back in 2022, Gore reportedly had a spat with Martial during a training session overseen by then-manager Erik ten Hag<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While his teammates were away at the 2022 World Cup, Gore aimed to impress in training but ended up making a robust challenge on Martial, leading to their clash.<\/p>\n

Tensions reportedly flared up between the two players, leading to an altercation that had to be broken up, as crunching challenges on key first-team members are typically off-limits during training sessions.<\/p>\n

Martial is said to have extended an apology to Gore, and the incident was swiftly resolved.<\/p>\n

Gore is now looking forward to a fresh start at Rotherham following his bizarre injury, which left manager Steve Evans perplexed, especially since the squad had been following a light training schedule.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the incident, Evans remarked: “He worked for two days in the team and went home from training on Friday feeling good. I got a call from the medical staff to say that he’d woken up with his foot really sore.<\/p>\n

“It’s unbelievable. We didn’t do enough in training for him to have a sore nose, let alone a sore foot. Until I hear more from the medical staff as to how it’s happened and why it’s happened, then it’s… maybe God will tell me when I go to sleep tonight.<\/p>\n

“The kid trained really well and didn’t feel a thing. He was going to play a big part for us, and then, after he’d gone home, he spoke to the head of medical and said he was feeling his foot.<\/p>\n

“No one is more gutted than myself. I put in a lot of effort to bring him here.
