An Instagram post by first lady Melania Trump features a hit song by Bad Bunny, despite Donald Trump\u2019s furious outburst at the singer\u2019s Super Bowl halftime performance,<\/a> which the president called \u201ca slap in the face to our country.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post<\/a> on the first lady\u2019s official FLOTUS and personal Instagram accounts, shared Saturday, showcased the strapless black and white dress<\/a> she wore for Trump\u2019s inaugural ball in January 2025, set to the Puerto Rican megastar\u2019s \u201cDtMF.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Melania was posting about the dress she donated to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History\u2019s First Ladies collection at an event in Washington, D.C. on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis black and white masterpiece showcases America\u2019s pure spirit of originality, superior engineering, and boundless creativity,\u201d Melania captioned the post, accompanied by the song from Bad Bunny\u2019s Grammy-winning album Deb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos.<\/a><\/p>\n

Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio, was the first male solo Latin artist to perform the Super Bowl\u2019s halftime show <\/a>and the first to perform a set entirely in Spanish.<\/p>\n

The president and his supporters furiously reacted to the performance, where the artist celebrated Puerto Rico and Latino culture in a huge display of pan-American unity in the face of Trump\u2019s anti-immigration agenda. <\/p>\n

Melania\u2019s Instagram followers appeared divided on the song choice.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think ur [sic] husband doesn’t like his songs,\u201d one person replied. Another noted \u201cthe audacity to use this song.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHow hilarious that she’s using a Bad Bunny song,\u201d someone else chimed in. <\/p>\n

Bad Bunny delivered a performance that celebrated Puerto Rico and Latino culture in a huge display of pan-American unity in the face of Trump\u2019s anti-immigration agenda (AP)<\/p>\n

Trump said the performance was \u201can affront to the greatness of America\u201d in a lengthy rant on Truth Social shortly after the halftime show ended despite the fact that Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory and Bad Bunny is a U.S. citizen.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World,\u201d Trump raged. \u201cThis \u2018Show\u2019 is just a \u2018slap in the face\u2019 to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day \u2014 including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!\u201d the president complained. <\/p>\n

During Bad Bunny\u2019s performance of \u201cEl Apag\u00f3n,\u201d the singer and dancers climbed on sparking power lines, alluding to corruption and inequality within the U.S. \u201ccommonwealth\u201d and the island\u2019s notoriously fragile infrastructure.<\/p>\n

MAGA allies were so outraged by the NFL\u2019s pick of Bad Bunny for the halftime show that they launched their own alternative.<\/p>\n

Turning Point USA\u2019s \u201cAll-American\u201d Super Bowl halftime show, headlined by Kid Rock, was streamed online and drew around 6.1 million concurrent viewers. Bad Bunny\u2019s performance drew 128.2 million viewers.<\/p>\n
