WASHINGTON \u2014 The new Formula 1 season comes with new cars, a new team<\/a> and new ways to watch races live \u2014 including live in select IMAX theaters.\u00a0<\/p>\n Five of the most popular Grand Prix races will make their way to select theaters as part of Apple TV’s latest partnership with the sport.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Experience the pulse pounding thrills of the 2026 Formula One season – live in IMAX,” IMAX said in a statement<\/a>. “From Miami to Monza, racing fans can immerse themselves in every turn, lap, and checkered flag of five of the most iconic Grands Prix in F1.”<\/p>\n It’s not yet clear which theaters will participate in the showing, nor how much ticket would cost.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Miami Grand Prix – May 3, 2026, 4 p.m. ETMonaco Grand Prix – June 7, 2026, 9 a.m. ETBritish Grand Prix (Silverstone) – July 5, 2026, 10 a.m. ETItalian Grand Prix (Monza) – September 6, 2026, 9 a.m. ETUnited States Grand Prix (Austin)\u00a0– October 25, 2026, 4 p.m. ET <\/p>\n Apple TV took over the broadcasting rights in the US on a multi-year deal starting in the 2026 season.<\/p>\n “F1 is a rapidly growing force in sports and culture in the US, and by bringing F1 on Apple TV live to IMAX theatres nationwide, we\u2019re delivering the energy and excitement to even more screens in a truly immersive way,\u201d Oliver Schusser, Apple\u2019s vice president of music, sports, and Beats, told Motorsports.com.<\/a><\/p>\n This wouldn’t be the first time the sport hit the big screen.\u00a0<\/p>\n Apple and IMAX’s announcement comes just shy of a year after the success of “F1: The Movie,” which starred Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. The movie was produced, in part, by Apple Studios.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cF1 The Movie\u201d debuted on June 27, 2025 with $55.6 million in North American theaters and $144 million globally over the weekend, which handed the tech company its biggest opening yet. It ended up grossing more than $630 million at the global box office during its theatrical run, according to estimates<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
