Feb. 23 (UPI) — NFL wide receiver Rondale Moore died over the weekend at his Indiana home, according to authorities. He was 25.<\/p>\n
Moore was found by emergency services at his New Albany, Ind., home at about 5:57 p.m. EST Saturday and transported to Baptist Health Floyd where he was pronounced dead minutes later, Floyd County Coroner Matthew Tomlin said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n A forensic autopsy was performed and family notification has been made, Tomlin said.<\/p>\n Though no cause of death was named, New Albany Police said<\/a> he was found dead from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound in the garage of his home.<\/p>\n “We are deeply saddened by the heartbreaking news of Rondale Moore’s sudden passing,” the Minnesota Vikings said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Our thoughts are with Rondale’s family and friends during this devastating time.”<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Moore signed with Minnesota in March 2025, but suffered a knee injury during preseason play that sidelined him for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n His career was hobbled by injuries over the last few years, with 2023 being the last season he played in the NFL.<\/p>\n
