Police have arrested an eighth suspect in relation to a home invasion last summer in the Hillsdale area, east of Huntsville.<\/p>\n
On July 1, shortly before 5 a.m., police responded to reports of an armed home invasion at a residence. The investigation eventually prompted the closure of Highway 11 in both directions between Severn River and Coopers Falls roads and between Canning and Graham roads.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Median Jackson, 32, of Brampton, was charged with the following:<\/p>\n
\n\tRobbery using a firearm (restricted or prohibited) \u2014 three counts
\n\tKidnapping while using a firearm (confine)
\n\tForcible confinement \u2014 two counts
\n\tAssault with a weapon
\n\tPointing a firearm
\n\tUsing a firearm while committing an offence
\n\tPossession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
\n\tTheft of a motor vehicle
\n\tConspiracy to commit an indictable offence
<\/p>\n
The accused remains in custody and has a Feb. 25 court date in Bracebridge.<\/p>\n
Huntsville OPP believes additional suspects, who might be armed and dangerous, remain at large.<\/p>\n
