{"id":494599,"date":"2026-02-23T18:30:12","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T18:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/494599\/"},"modified":"2026-02-23T18:30:12","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T18:30:12","slug":"busy-bus-routes-to-move-riders-more-quickly-between-toronto-and-mississauga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/494599\/","title":{"rendered":"Busy bus routes to move riders more quickly between Toronto and Mississauga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Riding the buses on one of the busiest transit corridors in Mississauga just got that much faster for passengers, MiWay officials say.<\/p>\n<p>Major service upgrades to MiWay, the city\u2019s public transit agency, take effect today and focus on offering daily riders more frequent bus service \u2014 specifically along Dundas Street between the western edge of Toronto and numerous destinations in Mississauga including University of Toronto Mississauga.<\/p>\n<p>MiWay has introduced \u201cmajor changes to service along Dundas Street affecting connections at Kipling Bus Terminal (in Toronto), University of Toronto Mississauga and South Common Centre,\u201d local transit officials said in a recent update. \u201cSchedules will be adjusted to increase frequency on all routes serving Dundas Street. These enhancements and realignments will improve travel options and strengthen connections to surrounding communities including Meadowvale, Erin Mills and UTM.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MiWay said in order to \u201csimplify the network and provide more consistent service,\u201d routes operating on Dundas Street will be revised, effective Feb. 23, as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Route 1 Dundas: Will operate from Kipling Bus Terminal to Laird Road and Ridgeway Drive in Mississauga via UTM. Service frequency will increase during core weekday and weekend hours.<br \/>\nRoute 101 Dundas Express: Will operate from Kipling Bus Terminal to Laird Road and Ridgeway Drive via UTM. Service frequency will increase during core weekday hours and on Saturdays.<br \/>\nService to South Common Centre: Service via Route 1C Dundas and Route 101 Dundas Express will be discontinued. Customers travelling to South Common Centre can transfer at UTM to either Route 110\/110A University Express or the newly extended Route 48 Erin Mills, which will also serve UTM.<\/p>\n<p>Among the upcoming changes, Route 48 Erin Mills will be extended from South Common Centre to serve UTM, according to MiWay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cService frequency will increase during weekday rush hours and midday as well as on weekends,\u201d transit officials said. \u201cPassengers can board Route 48 Erin Mills at UTM at bus stop No. 4800.
