And despite an MLB-high 13-game winning streak in May, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/bevy-of-moves-at-mlb-trade-deadline-put-twins-in-unprecedented-territory\/601447255\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/bevy-of-moves-at-mlb-trade-deadline-put-twins-in-unprecedented-territory\/601447255\">the Twins traded away 40% of their roster<\/a> at last week\u2019s trade deadline, saving $26 million in the process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rt-Text\">Now the only question that matters is who comes in to pick up the pieces?<\/p>\n<p class=\"rt-Text\">MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred believes a sale is imminent, but the timing remains unknown and details are scarce.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rt-Text\">With eight weeks left in the regular season, here\u2019s everything we know about a potential sale.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rt-Text\">At the All-Star break, Manfred said, \u201cI can tell you with a lot of confidence that there will be a transaction there, and it will be consistent with the kind of pricing that has taken place\u201d in other franchise sales. <\/p>\n<p class=\"rt-Text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/minnesota-twins-sale-justin-ishbia-rob-manfred-pohlad-family-reinsdorf-mlb\/601425739\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/minnesota-twins-sale-justin-ishbia-rob-manfred-pohlad-family-reinsdorf-mlb\/601425739\">The commissioner admitted<\/a> the sale was taking longer because there was an early clear front-runner in Justin Ishbia, who later turned his attention to the White Sox.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rt-Text\">\u201cWhen it becomes clear that you have a leader in the clubhouse, everybody else kind of backs away, right?\u201d Manfred said. \u201cBecause they kind of get a feel for the price, and unless they\u2019re prepared to top it, they\u2019re going to move on and do something else.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Pohlads, family owners since 1984, announced 10 months ago that they would be selling the franchise.
