{"id":496862,"date":"2026-02-24T18:49:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T18:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/496862\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T18:49:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T18:49:07","slug":"popular-fruit-tea-shop-just-closed-half-of-its-metro-vancouver-locations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/496862\/","title":{"rendered":"Popular fruit tea shop just closed half of its Metro Vancouver locations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Popular fruit tea shop Macu Tea has made the unfortunate announcement that it has closed two of its four locations in Metro Vancouver, joining the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/vancouver-closed-restaurants-february-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">growing list of restaurant closures<\/a> in and around the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter careful consideration, we will be closing our Burnaby and Robson location starting February 23, 2026,\u201d the bubble tea shop shared on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>The fruit tea destination was first founded in 2008 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and has since expanded to multiple locations across Canada and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Macu\u2019s claim to fame is its use of fresh fruit teas made with seasonal fruits and high-quality tea leaves. It\u2019s best known for its mango offerings, including a drink called the King of Mango Smoothie, which is a mango slush with fruit chunks, green tea jelly, and coconut milk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith deep appreciation for our community\u2019s support, we look forward to what the future may bring,\u201d added the store online.<\/p>\n<p>Those still looking to get their Macu Tea fix can visit its Richmond (1316-8368 Capstan Wy., Richmond) and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/macu-tea-kerrisdale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kerrisdale<\/a> (5971 West Blvd., Vancouver) locations.<\/p>\n<p>Many took to the comments to share their surprise at the sudden closure announcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s literally always a lineup. Every day, all day!!! Owner doesn\u2019t like money,\u201d said one Instagram user.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWow, I was just there recently!
