The Baltimore Orioles<\/a> are a team that’s facing injuries early as they look to bounce back from an underwhelming 75-87 record in 2025.<\/p>\n

Specifically, Baltimore’s infield has taken a hit. A large part of the Orioles’ lineup will miss the start of the regular season.<\/p>\n

They could be calling a team like the Houston Astros<\/a> about one of their infielders.<\/p>\n

MLB mock trade: Orioles trade for Astros’ Isaac Paredes<\/p>\n

The Orioles are going to be without two infielders for the start of the 2026 season. Second baseman Jackson Holliday is recovering from surgery to repair a broken hamate bone<\/a>, and third baseman Jordan Westburg will be out for an extended period after an MRI discovered that he’s dealing with a partially torn UCL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This has led to Zachary Rymer coming up with the idea<\/a> of Baltimore trading for Astros third baseman Isaac Paredes.<\/p>\n

Paredes, 27, is under club control through the 2027 season and battled injuries of his own in 2025.<\/p>\n

A partially torn right hamstring has kept him from playing just 102 games last season, but this didn’t stop the young infielder from achieving All-Star status in each of the past two years. His ability to also play multiple positions in the infield is what makes Paredes a valuable asset.<\/p>\n

His defense has been rocky at times, but Paredes has discipline at the plate while having the ability to hit 30 home runs in a season.<\/p>\n

Paredes has been heavily involved in trade talks<\/a> this offseason while Houston continues to structure their new lineup. One of the teams that could be calling is the Baltimore Orioles.\u00a0<\/p>\n
