With the change, you\u2019ll be able to keep YouTube videos going while you use another app on your phone or save videos to watch when you\u2019re offline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">YouTube Premium Lite came to the US <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/624598\/youtube-premium-lite-announced-us\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">just about a year ago<\/a> as a more affordable way to watch YouTube with fewer ads, but it lacked background playback and offline downloads. In its blog post, the company said that it had \u201cheard feedback about wanting these additional features included in the service.\u201d The features are rolling out beginning Tuesday and will be available everywhere that Premium Lite is in \u201cthe coming weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">With YouTube Premium Lite, \u201cmost\u201d videos are ad-free, but you might still see ads with music content, Shorts, and \u201cwhen you search or browse,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/premium?ybp=Sg0IBhIJdW5saW1pdGVk4AEB\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">according to YouTube<\/a>. If you want to go fully ad-free with YouTube and YouTube Music, you\u2019ll need to pay for the full YouTube Premium subscription, which costs $13.99 per month.
