Place stadium in downtown Vancouver is set to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/british-columbia\/aging-b-c-place-prepares-to-host-fifa-world-cup-9.6935992\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:host seven games;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">host seven games<\/a> as part of the continent-wide competition, and the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) Amphitheatre will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/british-columbia\/so-the-2026-world-cup-is-coming-to-vancouver-here-s-what-we-know-1.6494697\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:host a fan festival;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">host a fan festival<\/a> for the duration of the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As part of a number of changes mandated by its hosting agreement with FIFA \u2014 which include everything from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/british-columbia\/surveillance-cameras-2026-world-cup-vancouver-9.7022777\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:temporary surveillance cameras;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">temporary surveillance cameras<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/player\/play\/video\/9.6994177\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:extended noise allowances;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">extended noise allowances<\/a> \u2014 city staff said allowing FIFA vehicles to use bus lanes would reduce pressure on other lanes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;This change is expected to result in limited impacts to current users, as the number of FIFA-accredited vehicles is relatively small and the designation is temporary,&#8221; staff say in the report.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A number of streets around B.C. Place and the PNE will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vancouverfwc26.ca\/community-hub\/road-closures\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:closed or restricted;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">closed or restricted<\/a> for the duration of the event, with the city&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vancouverfwc26.ca\/community-hub\/hastings-pne\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:host committee saying;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">host committee saying<\/a> more details on road impacts will be shared closer to the World Cup itself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Among the changes is a closure for a stretch of Pacific Boulevard, between the Canada Line&#8217;s Yaletown-Roundhouse station and the Expo Line&#8217;s Main Street-Science World station.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"This graphic from Vancouver hosting committee shows a number of roads around B.C.
