\u201cIf the snow melts quickly, it could cause flooding, so it\u2019s something we\u2019re monitoring, the risk at the moment is moderate,\u201d Monette emphasized.<\/p>\n
Temperatures close to seasonal norms<\/p>\n
Still in Quebec, M\u00e9t\u00e9oM\u00e9dia expects temperatures to be \u201cnear normal\u201d in the coming weeks, except for the west of the province, which will be below normal, and the north of the province, which will be above normal.<\/p>\n
In Ontario, spring temperatures will likely be below normal, except for the southeastern part of the province, which will be close to normal.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn occasion, some significant heat waves will reach the Windsor-Quebec corridor, allowing for a bit of a break,\u201d but \u201cthese periods of early summer heat will be short-lived,\u201d according to a statement released by M\u00e9t\u00e9oM\u00e9dia on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
In the Atlantic provinces, the number of coastal storms \u201cshould not be abundant,\u201d according to Andr\u00e9 Monette.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Maritimes will be more sheltered from cold air outbreaks during the spring.\u201d Temperatures will be \u201cnear normal\u201d and the amount of precipitation is not expected to exceed the seasonal average.<\/p>\n
A cooler than normal spring is forecast for the western Canadian provinces, with the exception of British Columbia, where temperatures will be closer to normal.<\/p>\n
