Jacob Misiorowski first started to make a name for himself as a high school athlete in Missouri. By his junior year, he was throwing bullpens in front of MLB scouts.<\/p>\n

Going into his senior year, his baseball season would be cancelled due to COVID-19, and the shortened draft that year did not help the hard-throwing righty’s chances.<\/p>\n

He would go on to play college baseball at Crowder College. After redshirting his freshman year, he was lights out in 2022 and threw another bullpen in front of big league scouts, where he averaged 99.8 mph.<\/p>\n

A towering rookie season puts Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski in the national spotlight<\/p>\n

The Milwaukee Brewers<\/a>, being impressed with the easy velocity, selected him with the 63rd overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, and he started to fly up the prospect ranking.<\/p>\n

Last year, he sat as the club’s No. 3 prospect, and he would go on to make his MLB debut in June.<\/p>\n

He was fantastic last season. He appeared in 15 games, putting together a 5-3 record with a 4.36 ERA, which led to him being voted an All-Star last season.<\/p>\n

He will be one to watch, especially with Freddy Peralta gone. Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter<\/a> has faith he can continue to dominate and tags him as the 20th best player under 25 years old.<\/p>\n

“It was an up-and-down first big league season for Misiorowski, highlighted by a surprise All-Star selection and a stellar run as a multi-inning reliever in October. The towering 6’7″ right-hander now looks like the clear No. 2 on the Milwaukee staff following the Freddy Peralta trade, and he is more than capable of answering the bell.”<\/p>\n

However, if Misiorwski wants to serve as a legitimate No. 2, he needs to work on his walk rate and develop a third pitch. He finished the year hovering around an 11 percent walk rate, while hitters will key in on him being a primary two-pitch pitcher.<\/p>\n

Limiting his walks and continuing to work on his changeup could really put him in a different tier when it comes to young arms.<\/p>\n
