Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God\u2019s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow,\u201d she confirmed in a statement to the site.<\/p>\n<p>Robert reportedly died on Monday (February 23) in Utah, and while the cause of death is unknown at this time, authorities responded to a possible overdose, and upon arrival, a death investigation began.<\/p>\n<p>SLC police say they responded to a call for a \u201cfull arrest\/medical emergency\u201d of a 23-year-old male, and fire and paramedics were dispatched. <\/p>\n<p>Robert Jr has had a history of drug use and addiction, which he candidly  talked about with Mary on RHOSLC.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Late last year, Robert Jr <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/2025\/12\/03\/rhoslc-star-mary-cosbys-son-robert-jr-pleads-guilty-to-trespassing-assault-charges-will-remain-in-jail-until-next-year\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">plead guilty to trespassing and assault charges<\/a> involving his estranged wife and her father. She<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/2025\/11\/26\/rhoslc-star-mary-cosbys-son-robert-jrs-wife-files-for-divorce\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> filed for divorce<\/a> in November.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested in November and remained in jail up until earlier this month. <\/p>\n<p>Our thoughts go out to Mary Cosby and her family during this difficult time.
