\n\tIt\u2019s hard to imagine the 2011 film Bridesmaids<\/a> without the iconic food poisoning scene.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a recent video interview with Vanity Fair<\/a>, Kristen Wiig<\/a> reunited with her former co-star Rose Byrne <\/a>and looked back on the Oscar-nominated film, directed by Paul Feig.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt one point, the Saturday Night Live alum admitted that the infamous scene wasn\u2019t part of the movie\u2019s original script. \u201cThat was a sequence that came later in the writing process that we sort of embraced and like, OK, we\u2019ll write our version of this type of thing,\u201d Wiig explained. \u201cWe just kind of made it our own. We don\u2019t want to see any vomit [but] you can find a way to do your version of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was so fun to do that scene and to see \u2026 everyone\u2019s version of not feeling well and trying to hide it. It was fun to watch the ladies do their thing,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe particular scene in question saw the friend group suffer from sudden food poisoning while trying on expensive wedding dresses after they had eaten at a cheap restaurant. Chaos ensues, leading to extreme involuntary vomiting and diarrhea and absolutely ruining the bridal boutique.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2017, Feig revealed to Esquire<\/a> that there\u2019s another version of the food poisoning sequence that fans didn\u2019t see, as they decided it was too gross to make the final cut.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s a deleted sequence where, after Becca throws up on Rita\u2019s head, she has to throw up again, so she runs out of the bathroom and down the hall, thinking that there\u2019s another bathroom at the end of the hallway,\u201d the filmmaker recalled. \u201cIt turns out that the door opens onto Whitney\u2019s office; she throws the door open and projectile vomits across this beautiful white office, and all over the wedding picture of Whitney and her husband.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe shot a lot of outrageous stuff knowing that we could adjust the balance later,\u201d he added. \u201cThe minute we shot that sequence, we all said, \u2018I think this is a bridge too far.\u2019 So we scrapped that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to Wiig and Byrne, Bridesmaids also starred Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy<\/a>, Ellie Kemper and Wendi McLendon-Covey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It\u2019s hard to imagine the 2011 film Bridesmaids without the iconic food poisoning scene.
