One woman tried it for a whole year with her iPhone 16 Pro Max to find out.<\/p>\n<p><a #0074ff;\">hints and hacks<\/a> that claim to boost your phone\u2019s battery, like not <a href=\"https:\/\/supercarblondie.com\/tech\/apple-warning-swipe-apps-closed-iphone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\" style=\"color: #0074ff;\">swiping apps<\/a> closed or placing your <a href=\"https:\/\/supercarblondie.com\/tech\/hack-can-make-your-iphones-battery-last-much-longer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\" style=\"color: #0074ff;\">device face battery life is to limit charging to just 80 percent and one woman put it to the test for an entire year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/09\/24\/iphone-16-pro-max-charge-limit-test\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"\" style=\"color: #0074ff;\">post<\/a> shared on the Mac Rumors forum she revealed that she had done a similar test the year before with her iPhone 15, and decided to give it another go with her newer handset.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As well as only charging up to a maximum of 80 percent, she also tried to avoid letting it fall below 20 percent before charging.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And admitted that it hadn\u2019t always been easy, and that keeping in with the strict limits had been \u2018inconvenient\u2019 .\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was fine when home, but if I was out and wanted to use the camera or needed GPS, it often wasn\u2019t enough battery,\u201d she revealed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To charge her iPhone 16 she used a \u201850\/50 split\u2019 of MagSafe wireless charging and fast-charging via USB-C.<\/p>\n<p>Click the star icon next to supercarblondie.com 2024 to September 2025 and then posted her findings on Mac Rumors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the post she revealed that after a year of charging to no more than 80 percent, her battery was at a not-too-shabby 94 percent capacity after 299 charge cycles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, she went on to say that she believed the battery capacity to be \u2018about average\u2019 regardless of charging habits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/supercarblondie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/iphone-2-3.webp\" style=\"color: #0074ff;\" data-lightbox=\"183423\" data-title=\"Rohit Sharma\" rel=\"nofollow 16 Pro Max, did not have an 80 percent charge limit set, and his battery capacity is 96 percent with 308 charge cycles,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The woman added that over she didn\u2019t think it was worth it, and that her results had been \u2018disappointing\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>But just to test the theory, she had begun another year-long experiment, this time with an <a href=\"https:\/\/supercarblondie.com\/expert-test-iphone-17-battery-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\" style=\"color: #0074ff;\">iPhone 17 Pro Max<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And
