OPP officers are responding to an incident possibly involving armed individuals on Village Road in Mississauga First Nation, Blind River.<\/p>\n
Residents in the immediate area are urged to shelter-in-place and adhere to the following safety precautions:<\/p>\n
\n\tIf you are outside, seek shelter immediately in a secure location
\n\tIf you are inside, remain there and lock all doors and windows
\n\tClose curtains or blinds to avoid drawing attention
\n\tFollow all instructions from officers on scene
<\/p>\n
\u201cIndividuals not currently in the affected area are requested to avoid travelling there until further notice. An increased police presence can be expected while officers continue their response and investigation,\u201d the OPP said on social media.<\/p>\n
The post said they recognize the significant emotional impact that can be caused by being told to shelter-in-place.<\/p>\n
