Winnipeg police say a 38-year-old man has been charged for allegedly trafficking drugs in the East Kildonan \u2013 Transcona neighbourhood.<\/p>\n
WPS says around 3 p.m. on Feb. 24, officers were conducting proactive policing in the East Kildonan \u2013 Transcona neighbourhood, when they reportedly noticed a man who was believed to have outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n
At the time, the man was exiting a 2009 BMW at a home along McLeod Avenue, and upon seeing the officers, the man reportedly tried to flee before being taken into custody.<\/p>\n
WPS says that during the arrest, the rear licence plate of the BMW was determined to have been stolen. This led to officers conducting a search of the vehicle, where they found and seized a sawed-off Maverick 12 shotgun with a spent shell in the chamber and two shells in the magazine tube, around 32 grams of cocaine, and around nine grams of methamphetamine.<\/p>\n
