Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly hurled anti-Black slurs and spat at someone in downtown Toronto earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The incident happened on Jan. 16, shortly after 7:20 p.m., in the PATH underground network along King Street, between Scotia Plaza and First Canadian Place.<\/p>\n

Investigators say a man allegedly engaged in an \u201cunprovoked confrontation\u201d with a person he did not know.<\/p>\n

Police say the victim then confronted the suspect after they were spat on, but soon after the suspect aggressively walked toward them while uttering racial slurs. <\/p>\n

The suspect was last seen walking toward Scotia Plaza. <\/p>\n

Police describe the suspect as a six-foot-tall man in his late 20s with a slim build, dark-coloured hair, and tattoos on the backs of both of his hands. <\/p>\n

Toronto police say<\/a> he was last seen wearing burgundy pants, dark-coloured running shoes, white wired earbuds, and a black three-quarter-length winter jacket with the hood up and red vents on the torso under each arm. They add that he was also carrying a black backpack with a red luggage tag on the top and a small red patch on the back.<\/p>\n

Investigators are treating this incident as a suspected hate-motivated offence. <\/p>\n
