What: Get your cameras ready because the colourful Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF) is blooming again this spring.<\/p>\n

The festival is one of the city\u2019s most beloved yearly events, with a huge lineup of events to discover from March 27 to April 12. There will be several arts workshops to enjoy, the return of Blossoms After Dark from March 27 to 28 at David Lam Park, the Blossom Block Party on April 4 at Bentall Centre, the Sakura Days Japan Festival from April 11 to 12 at VanDusen Botanical Garden, and more.<\/p>\n

What: Broadway Across Canada presents Les Mis\u00e9rables at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre this month. The original musical adaptation of Victor Hugo\u2019s novel about Jean Valjean\u2019s desire for redemption won 14 awards during its debut Broadway season,\u00a0including the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.<\/p>\n

What:\u00a0Smut Slam, the adult-only storytelling open mic, was created by award-winning playwright, performer, sex activist and educator Cameryn Moore. Consenting Slammers sign up at the event to tell a five-minute dirty story, based on real life.<\/p>\n

The audience can also ask a question or share a confession in the F-BUCKET, which will be anonymously read out on stage. The open and inclusive event is hosted by DD Brassiere.<\/p>\n

What: This spring, divert from the ordinary and step into the world of\u00a0Wildwoman, a show that goes beyond what you\u2019d expect from a night at the theatre. Written by award-winning Canadian playwright Kat Sandler,\u00a0Wildwoman\u00a0follows the story of Catherine de Medici, the young wife of King Henry II of France, who thinks her life in court will be full of fascinating figures and political discourse. Spoiler alert: It\u2019s not. Instead, she\u2019s expected to act as a baby-making machine for male heirs, regardless of her own ambitions.<\/p>\n

Who does Catherine find comfort in? Not her lady-in-waiting who schemes at every turn, or the power-hungry mistress of the king. Rather, the super hot (and hairy) wildman that\u2019s kept in the dungeon as one of the king\u2019s caged oddities. He\u2019s friendly and feral, with a presence that gradually awakens Catherine\u2019s own wild side as she transforms from a pawn to a powerhouse.<\/p>\n
