A new era is on the horizon for one of Calgary\u2019s most iconic bars.<\/p>\n
After opening more than 50 years ago, Ranchman\u2019s has revealed it is set to close its current location at the end of 2026. However, the Calgary staple will be reopening in a nearby location in 2027.<\/p>\n
The move forms part of a planned redevelopment of the property, Ranchman\u2019s and the Deveraux Group of Companies, who are leading the development, said in a press release. They added that Ranchman\u2019s has already signed a lease for a larger location.<\/p>\n
Having first opened in 1972, Ranchman\u2019s has become one of Calgary\u2019s most prominent bars, offering free country dance lessons, live music and even a free limo service to get you to the spot in style.<\/p>\n
Last year, the spot even received a shoutout<\/a> from the stars of the Netflix series, My Life With the Walter Boys.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to give a big shoutout to Ranchman\u2019s,\u201d Ashby Gentry said while visiting the Calgary Stampede.<\/p>\n \u201cLove it or hate it, it wouldn\u2019t be Calgary without it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n For now, it\u2019ll be business as usual at Ranchman\u2019s with live music, events, dance lessons, and more still taking place throughout the year. 2026 will also be the final Stampede celebration held at the current location.<\/p>\n \u201cWe intend to send it off properly, with our stage active and our dance floor full,\u201d said Wendy Daniel, director of marketing for Ranchman\u2019s.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re excited about where Ranchman\u2019s is going next and look forward to sharing more in the months ahead,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n While it\u2019ll be sad to say goodbye to the old Ranchman\u2019s, we\u2019re excited to see what its new home has in store.<\/p>\n Address: 9615 Macleod Trl.
