Region of Peel \u2013\u00a0Investigators have arrested and charged two young offenders after a firearm was reported at a school in Mississauga <\/p>\n
On Feb. 25, at approximately 1:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a student in possession of a firearm at a school near Erin Centre Boulevard and Glen Erin Drive. Upon arrival, officers determined that the individual was inside the adjoining community centre and never in the school. As a precaution, both the school and community centre were placed into lockdown.<\/p>\n
Officers attended the community centre and took two individuals into custody without incident. They were found to be in possession of a loaded illegal handgun, and neither were students of the adjoining school.<\/p>\n
Further investigation determined that no threats were made and there was no indication the suspects intended to cause harm at the school or community centre. <\/p>\n
A 15 and 17-year-old male from Mississauga were arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing on the following charges: <\/p>\n
