Dreger: Canucks\u2019 Brock Boeser willing to move \u2018if there\u2019s a fit that makes sense\u2019<\/p>\n

The trade rumours surrounding the Vancouver Canucks<\/a> won\u2019t be stopping anytime soon; that much is clear.According to Dreger, Boeser\u2019s name is out there in trade discussions. That, we had already heard rumblings about earlier this month<\/a>. But what we didn\u2019t know just yet was the second bit of information that Dreger reported \u2014 that Boeser would be willing to waive his no-movement clause \u201cif there\u2019s a fit.\u201d\u201cIt\u2019s interesting to me that Brock Boeser\u2019s name is out there,\u201d Dreger said on Thursday\u2019s Edition of Insider Trading<\/a>. \u201cI mean, this guy just signed a seven-year contract with the Canucks on July first. Now, is he willing to move? Well, he is, if there\u2019s a fit that makes sense to Boeser and his family. He\u2019s a playoff performer, so teams will express some interest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boeser, who recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend \u2014 whom he met in Vancouver \u2014 signed a seven-year deal with the Canucks this past offseason. The contract carries a yearly cap hit of $7.25 million and a full no-movement clause for the first four years. After that, Boeser will have a 15-team no-trade list. Through 51 games this season, Boeser has put up just 12 goals and 14 assists, and is on pace to finish with a career-low 39 points.\u00a0The Canucks originally selected Boeser at 23rd overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.<\/p>\n

Boeser, who has long been known for his strong shot, scored 40 goals during the 2023-24 season before adding seven more through 12 playoff games. Boeser was one of the Canucks\u2019 best players during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, finishing with 12 points through 12 games and some very timely goals.<\/p>\n
