Those repairs took five weeks to complete, but they say the elevator still isn\u2019t operating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s difficult,\u201d says Vikki. \u201cNot just coming upstairs ourselves, but, you know, you want to shop for groceries or other things you need to bring up and down the stairs easier.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vikki hasn\u2019t been able to walk up and down the stairs since having knee replacement surgery two weeks ago, which she says has left her homebound, feeling \u201cstressed and depressed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"170\" height=\"225\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/healthiq.jpg\" alt=\"Receive the latest medical news and health information delivered to you every Sunday.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tGet weekly health news<\/p>\n<p>Receive the latest medical news and health information delivered to you every Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>If she needed to leave, the couple says they would have to call a medical transport which would cost them $200 each way. What\u2019s the progress? And we weren\u2019t really getting any answers,\u201d David says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe started to get some and it sounds to me like somebody just dropped the ball.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aedarsa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Alberta Elevating Devices &amp; Amusement Rides Safety Association<\/a> (AEDARSA) will be doing the inspection.
