{"id":503435,"date":"2026-02-27T16:57:10","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T16:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/503435\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T16:57:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T16:57:10","slug":"pedestrian-dead-after-being-struck-by-vehicle-in-mississauga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/503435\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian dead after being struck by vehicle in Mississauga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man in his 70s has died after being struck by a vehicle in Mississauga on Thursday evening, according to Peel Regional Police.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/70c8fc80.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Police said officers responded to Lakeshore Road East and Stavebank Road area at approximately 7:10 p.m, when a blue Chevy Trax travelling westbound on Lakeshore Road struck a pedestrian, who was crossing mid-block from north to south.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"170\" height=\"225\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1767930311_275_national.jpg\" alt=\"Get the day's top news, political, economic, and current affairs headlines, delivered to your inbox once a day.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tGet daily National news<\/p>\n<p>Get the day&#8217;s top news, political, economic, and current affairs headlines, delivered to your inbox once a day.<\/p>\n<p>The driver, an adult male, remained at the scene and was co-operative with investigators.<\/p>\n<p>Peel EMS responded to the scene and transported the male to a local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\tTrending Now\n\t<\/p>\n<p>The pedestrian later died in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is now underway by the Major Collision Bureau.
