CALGARY \u2013 Amelia Awad<\/a> and Brooklyn Anderson<\/a> of the University of Calgary Dinos\u00a0women’s hockey team have both been selected as Canada West All-Stars, the conference office announced Friday morning.<\/p>\n Awad was named to the conference’s first team, while Anderson earned a nod on as a second teamer. The postseason honours are a first for both.<\/p>\n It was an incredible season in net for Awad. One year after being thrust into being the everyday starter for the Dinos, Awad thrived this year. She made 16 starts and allowed one goal or less each of the first six games to start the season and nine times overall. The Halifax product finished with an impressive 12-3-1 record with a 1.87 goals-against average. She also finished the regular season with a .940 save percentage – third best in the conference and in the top-10 in all of U SPORTS.<\/p>\n In all, Awad finished the year making 471 total saves and posted two shutouts. She also becomes the first Dino goaltender to earn a spot on the conference’s top team since Kelsey Roberts in 2020.<\/p>\n For Anderson, the fifth-year forward was one of the top offensive players in the nation this year. Despite missing the first 10 games of the Canada West slate, the Shellrbooke, Sask., native still racked up eight goals and nine assists in the strong season for the Dinos. In fact, despite playing in just 16 games – just over half the number of the rest of the league – Anderson still finished in the top-20 in all of Canada West in goals, assists and points.
