Driving conditions continue to deteriorate as a Blowing Snow Advisory remains in effect for all of Southern Manitoba.<\/p>\n

This photo was taken mid-morning, about five to ten miles south of St. Norbert on Highway 75.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Details on what led to this scenario are unknown, however, it appears the low-visibility cautions attached to the advisory are coming to fruition as blowing snow makes it nearly difficult to see the semi and emergency vehicles on the highway.<\/p>\n

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, recent snowfall, wind gusts in excess of 80 km\/h, and falling temperatures have created conditions suitable for widespread reductions in visibility.<\/p>\n

At 10:20 a.m., wind gusts of 80 km\/h were clocked at Winnipeg’s Richardson International Airport.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Environment and Climate Change Canada says conditions will improve from northwest to southeast through the afternoon and evening hours.<\/p>\n

Travel will likely be hazardous due to near-zero visibility. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic. Road closures are possible.<\/p>\n

Motorists are asked to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.<\/p>\n
