\n\tBrad Pitt<\/a>\u2018s \u201cF1<\/a>\u201d is racing back to Imax<\/a> theaters after becoming the highest-grossing movie of his career.<\/p>\n

\n\tApple\u2019s Formula 1 racing movie will return to Imax theaters on Friday, Aug. 8, with plans to further expand on Friday, Aug. 15. Tickets are now on sale.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cF1\u201d recently crossed $552 million at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing original feature of the year and Apple\u2019s largest film ever. It lapped Pitt\u2019s previous best movie, his 2013 zombie movie \u201cWorld War Z\u201d which made $540 million at the box office (not adjusted for inflation). Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, \u201cF1\u201d has made $85 million and counting from Imax theaters alone, which is the highest of any film this year and accounted for 23% of its North America opening and 19% of its global launch.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAudiences around the world have embraced \u2018F1 The Movie\u2019 as an adrenaline-pumping, big screen experience, and its re-release in IMAX is a testament to the global popularity of the film,\u201d said Matt Dentler, head of features at Apple Original Films. \u201cJoe, Jerry, Brad, Lewis and the visionary team behind \u2018F1 The Movie\u2019 have delivered a summer blockbuster that blends heart with action, and we can\u2019t wait to give moviegoers another chance to see it in IMAX.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPitt stars in \u201cF1\u201d as aging driver Sonny Hayes, who returns to the track after a devastating injury derailed his career in the \u201990s. Now, he\u2019s a driver-for-hire who helps a struggling Formula 1 team return from the brink of collapse. He stars alongside Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies and more. \u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d helmer Joseph Kosinski directed the film and produced with Jerry Bruckheimer, seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Chad Oman.<\/p>\n
