{"id":504840,"date":"2026-02-28T08:06:38","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T08:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/504840\/"},"modified":"2026-02-28T08:06:38","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T08:06:38","slug":"adult-and-youth-facing-offences-after-loaded-gun-found-during-traffic-stop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/504840\/","title":{"rendered":"Adult and youth facing offences after loaded gun found during traffic stop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"publish-date\">Posted Feb 27, 2026 01:16:19 PM.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-modified-date\">Last Updated Feb 27, 2026 01:16:28 PM.<\/p>\n<p>During a morning traffic stop west of downtown Ottawa, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ottawapolice.ca\/en\/news\/proactive-enforcement-results-in-firearm-and-drug-seizure-on-booth-and-rochester-streets.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">police stopped a vehicle that led to the arrest of a man and a youth. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>It happened Feb. 23 around 10:56 a.m., after officers were doing a proactive patrol after members of the community raised concerns about safety in the area of LeBreton Flats. There was a traffic stop set up on both Booth and Rochester streets. The stop resulted in two people arrested after a loaded gun and quantities of fentanyl, hydromorphone and oxycodone were found. <\/p>\n<p>Police towed the vehicle and charged the two with various offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code of Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The youth is facing two additional charges of possession of a prohibited firearm contrary to the Criminal Code.<\/p>\n<p>People are being encouraged by police to report suspicious activity in their neighbourhood. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Posted Feb 27, 2026 01:16:19 PM.
