{"id":505646,"date":"2026-02-28T17:19:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T17:19:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/505646\/"},"modified":"2026-02-28T17:19:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T17:19:07","slug":"amir-khan-predicts-mayweather-vs-pacquiao-2-hes-winning-this-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/505646\/","title":{"rendered":"Amir Khan predicts Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2: &#8220;He&#8217;s winning this one&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amir Khan targeted blockbuster fights with both Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao during his career, and has now offered a prediction for their rematch on September 19.<\/p>\n<p>It was announced last week that <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/mayweather-vs-pacquiao-rematch-planned\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the two pound-for-pound legends will square off at the Sphere, Las Vegas<\/a>, with their professional contest being streamed live on Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>Their first encounter, back in 2015, saw Mayweather claim a convincing points victory, coming away with the WBC, WBO and WBA world welterweight titles.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, though, the Hall of Famer has amassed just two professional wins \u2013 against Andre Berto and Conor McGregor \u2013 while also being involved in several exhibition matches.<\/p>\n<p>Pacquiao, too, has kept himself ticking over with the odd exhibition, but also fought professionally when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/boxing\/articles\/cgjgqzjez8wo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">he tied with Mario Barrios<\/a>, the then-WBC welterweight champion, in July.<\/p>\n<p>This came after a near four-year hiatus from the professional ring, with his previous title fight resulting in a unanimous points defeat to Yordenis Ugas.<\/p>\n<p>It is the 47-year-old\u2019s apparent lifestyle choices, though, that have largely inspired Khan to give him the edge over Mayweather in their rematch.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing his opinion on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/AmirKingkhanPage\/videos\/1574999353552765\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook<\/a>, the former world champion highlighted Pacquiao\u2019s consistency in the gym as a significant factor against his 49-year-old opponent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like Manny Pacquiao in the second one, because I think Mayweather\u2019s slowing down a little bit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAge catches up on you, and I think with Manny always looking in good shape \u2013 obviously he\u2019s not partying, not drinking; Mayweather\u2019s always partying, chilling, enjoying himself \u2013 I think there\u2019s a different way of living for both fighters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMayweather\u2019s still like a 20-year-old kid, whereas Manny Pacquiao\u2019s very intelligent and he\u2019s on the right path.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve got Manny Pacquiao winning that fight. But who knows? Mayweather always ends up pulling it off.
