{"id":505671,"date":"2026-02-28T17:32:13","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T17:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/505671\/"},"modified":"2026-02-28T17:32:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T17:32:13","slug":"canucks-lekkerimaki-out-for-season-after-successful-surgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/505671\/","title":{"rendered":"Canucks&#8217; Lekkerimaki out for season after successful surgery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/hockey\/nhl\/teams\/vancouver-canucks\/\" class=\"sn-team-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-team=\"vancouver-canucks\" data-league=\"nhl\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Vancouver Canucks<\/a> general manager Patrik Allvin <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Canucks\/status\/2027483610086052271?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">announced<\/a> Friday that the 21-year-old forward underwent successful surgery on Thursday and will not play again this season. <\/p>\n<p>After his rehab, Lekkerim\u00e4ki is expected to be ready for 2026-27 training camp in September. <\/p>\n<p>Lekkerim\u00e4ki spent the majority of the season with the AHL&#8217;s Abbotsford Canucks, scoring 13 goals and 20 points in 21 games.<\/p>\n<p>He initially broke camp with Vancouver, but suffered an injury in October and was assigned to the AHL upon his return.
