SuperHawks<\/a>.<\/p>\nThe standout point guard delivered several memorable performances during his pro career as a player on several squads, including the Denver Nuggets and the Dallas Mavericks.<\/p>\n
Pack and former Seattle SuperSonics star point guard Gary Payton stopped by the KING 5 studios on Saturday to talk about their new coaching roles. Payton has gotten the nod to serve as an assistant coach for the SuperHawks.<\/p>\n
Both Pack and Payton said they are thrilled to help young athletes get their shot and make their dreams a reality.<\/p>\n
“The guys are practicing hard. You’re going to see guys who didn’t have the opportunity to be drafted,” Pack said. “We’re looking forward to a good start to the season.”<\/p>\n
One of Pack’s assistants, Payton, agrees.<\/p>\n
“A lot of players in the NBA came through leagues like this,” Payton said. “These are good leagues that you can come back in and see their talents.”<\/p>\n
SuperHawks deliver high-scoring games and the team owners say they are proud to offer “affordable and community-focused” sporting events.<\/p>\n
SuperHawks players are part of several community service projects each year.<\/p>\n
Team co-owners Jacqueline Yang and Pierre Crockrell Sr. have made this a cornerstone of player commitments.<\/p>\n
Yang is a trailblazer in the sports industry. She is the first female Asian owner of a men\u2019s professional basketball team and professional basketball league, the USBL<\/p>\n
The SuperHawks organization says “Seattle is a basketball town,” and collectively look forward to seeing the return of the city’s beloved NBA franchise – the SuperSonics.<\/p>\n
