MONTREAL \u2014 Air Canada has updated its plans for flights to Israel and Dubai in light of the strike on Iran.<\/p>\n
Earlier today<\/a> Air Canada announced cancelled flights to and from Dubai today, Feb. 28. Its next scheduled flight was set to depart for Israel on March 1.<\/p>\n Now Air Canada has updated its guidance, announcing suspended service from Canada to Israel until March 8, and to Dubai until March 3.<\/p>\n Air Canada\u2019s Manager Corporate Communications, Peter Fitzpatrick, noted that Israeli airspace has been closed to commercial air traffic amid the military situation. Dubai\u2019s airspace is also closed.<\/p>\n As Fitzpatrick told Travelweek earlier today, \u201cFriday\u2019s flight from Toronto to Dubai had departed yesterday evening but is returning to origin and will arrive back in Toronto this morning, and today\u2019s flight from Dubai to Toronto is also cancelled.\u201d<\/p>\n Normally Air Canada operates four flights a week to Israel, and daily flights to Dubai. DXB is a major hub for onward connections to global destinations.<\/p>\n \u201cAffected customers will be notified of their options, which include a full refund to the original form of payment if their flight is cancelled. We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates accordingly.
