{"id":507034,"date":"2026-03-01T08:49:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-01T08:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/507034\/"},"modified":"2026-03-01T08:49:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T08:49:07","slug":"world-book-day-from-aslan-to-paddington-the-sculptures-shaping-childrens-stories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/507034\/","title":{"rendered":"World Book Day: From Aslan to Paddington &#8211; the sculptures shaping children&#8217;s stories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">CS Lewis Square, located in east Belfast, is a public space that commemorates Belfast-born author, CS Lewis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It is home to seven sculptures inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe &#8211; the first of the seven novels in The Chronicles of Narnia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Much of the novel is set in Narnia, as the Pevensie children discover the land of talking animals and mythical creatures, ruled by the evil White Witch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Visitors to CS Lewis Square can see Mr Tumnus, Maugrim, the White Witch, Mr and Mrs Beaver, the Stone Table, the robin and overlooking them all, Aslan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The space is open to the public 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"CS Lewis Square, located in east Belfast, is a public space that commemorates Belfast-born author, CS Lewis.
