\n\tSaturday Night Live<\/a>\u2018s Weekend Update<\/a> bashed Trump\u2019s efforts at regime change in Iran<\/a> by reminding everyone what he said about Barack Obama 16 years ago.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump announced early Saturday that the U.S. and Israel were striking Iran, and encouraged Iranian citizens to then \u201ctake over your government.\u201d It was later confirmed that the U.S.-Israeli attacks had killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran\u2019s supreme leader since 1989. According to the Iranian rights group HRANA, 133 civilians had been killed and 200 others were injured\u00a0as of late Saturday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou guys, I\u2019m starting to worry that President Trump might not win that peace prize,\u201d Colin Jost<\/a> began, as Trump has been angling for<\/a> the the Nobel Peace Prize and trying to sell all the wars he has supposedly ended.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis attack might be a bad idea. I don\u2019t know. I\u2019m not really an expert on Iran. So let\u2019s hear from someone who can explain why we might have done it,\u201d Jost continued, playing a 2011 clip of Trump criticizing then-President Barack Obama. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOur president will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely no ability to negotiate,\u201d Trump says while sitting behind his desk at Trump Tower. \u201cHe\u2019s weak and he\u2019s ineffective.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tJost nodded along. \u201cSee? Now that\u2019s the Trump I voted for.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tCo-anchor Michael Che<\/a> then addressed criticisms from the right and left that Trump, who had been negotiating with the country over its nuclear program, didn\u2019t obtain authorization for the strikes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe did\u2014Netanyahu said it was okay,\u201d Che joked of the Israeli prime minister, who for decades has been claiming that Iran was close to developing nuclear weaponry.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI can\u2019t believe our leader can just attack Iran with no vote, no provision from Congress, no anything, \u201d Che continued. \u201cI mean, what is this? Iran?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWeekend Update also addressed Trump\u2019s record-length State of the Union address<\/a> on Tuesday, which clocked in at nearly two hours, or as Jost put it, \u201calmost two full diapers.\u201d<\/p>\n
