Adam Henrique<\/a> wants to remain with the Edmonton Oilers<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The veteran forward hasn\u2019t told the organization that\u2019s he\u2019s willing to waive his trade protection, according to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger. <\/p>\n

Both the team and Henrique\u2019s agent have confirmed, Dreger adds. <\/p>\n

The trade deadline is on Friday. <\/p>\n

Henrique, 36, has struggled this season, netting two goals and eight assists over 46 games. He scored 12 goals and 15 assists over 81 games during the 2024-25 season, his first full campaign with the Oilers after they picked him up from the Anaheim Ducks<\/a> ahead of the 2024 trade deadline. <\/p>\n

Wednesday\u2019s game against the Ducks was Henrique\u2019s first game since Jan. 6 as he spent time on the long-term injured reserve with an undisclosed injury. <\/p>\n

The Brantford, Ont., native is in the final season of a two-year, $6 million contract, featuring an average annual value of $3 million. <\/p>\n

Edmonton has dropped two of their first three games since returning to action following the Olympic break. They sit third in the Pacific Division with a 29-24-8 record, one point ahead of the Seattle Kraken<\/a>. <\/p>\n
