Are you ready for Metro Vancouver\u2019s favourite holiday tradition? The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival <\/a>is returning for another big and bright year to spread all the holiday cheer and jolly vibes!<\/p>\n

For two festive days on Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23, Surrey Civic Plaza will become a dazzling display packed with tons of free holiday fun like amusement park rides, a Holiday Market, and a brand-new 4,000-square-foot outdoor ice skating rink!<\/p>\n

This annual tradition, presented by Concord Pacific, is beloved by folks all over the Lower Mainland. Every year, folks from all around Metro Vancouver gather to marvel at the centrepiece of the event: the lighting of Surrey\u2019s massive, sparkling, and extraordinary 60-foot Christmas tree, which is happening on Saturday, November 22 at 6:30pm!<\/p>\n

\nFestive Classics Across Five Stages<\/p>\n

This year, the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival is upgrading from four stages to <\/a>five. You can expect a variety on each of the stages, ranging from holiday classics to dance battles. There will also be DJs, choirs, and even more that you can look forward to!<\/p>\n

On Saturday, you can catch headliner O Come All Ye Soulful, an all-star band featuring Dawn Pemberton and Jodi Proznick on the Snowflake Stage! And that\u2019s not all\u2013 on Sunday, the Divas: A Holiday Disco will be dazzling guests with a memorable night filled with disco, glamour, and holiday spirit.<\/p>\n

The North Pole Stage will feature plenty of family-friendly entertainment. Meanwhile, the Candy Cane Dance Tent will have DJs spinning the tracks and dance demonstrations. And if you swing by the Grand Staircase, a variety of local performers will be bringing the cheer, as well as at Holiday Market Melodies where soloists will be playing tunes for shoppers and skaters.<\/p>\n

\nWinter Wonderland Magic<\/p>\n

A holiday festival isn\u2019t complete without tons of beautiful lights, and the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival certainly has plenty! Aside from the actual tree lighting on November 22, you can also check out the light tunnel and sparkling displays that can be found throughout Surrey Civic Plaza.<\/a> It\u2019s the perfect opportunity to get some awesome pics for your Insta and also make memories with the little ones.<\/p>\n

Speaking of little ones, there\u2019s lots of holiday magic to go around for them! For those that love to skate, there will be a massive, 4,000-square-foot ice skating rink for them to glide along. This will be its debut at the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival, so now\u2019s the time to try it out for the first time! As long as you bring your own skates and helmets, it\u2019s totally free to skate on; but rentals will also be available on site.<\/p>\n

Amusement rides will also be free to enjoy, including a Ferris Wheel that will overlook the festival\u2019s gorgeous lights!<\/p>\n

And of course, Santa will be available for pictures inside The North Pole in the City Hall Atrium. For whatever gifts your kids want, he\u2019s happy to listen. But watch out for a certain grumpy and green guy that you may recognize from Dr. Seuss\u2019 classic holiday tale!<\/p>\n
