Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham is pulling back the curtain on teammate Caitlin Clark\u2019s off-the-court personality, describing her as a \u201cnormal human\u201d and a \u201cbig ole dork.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst of all, I think she is such a normal human,\u201d Cunningham said on the Wednesday, February 25, episode of the \u201cLike a Farmer\u201d Podcast<\/a>. \u201cShe truly is. Like, she loves ball, you know what I mean? But my favorite story? I don\u2019t even know if I have a favorite story, but she\u2019s a big ole dork. I think it\u2019s just an overall, like, you kind of go in and you don\u2019t know what to expect. She\u2019s a generational player; she has all this tension and carries it all so well, especially being her age.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cAnd I promise you, she\u2019s the biggest dork you will ever meet. So I just love her. Like, love her whole vibe. There\u2019s not one whole story that kind of sticks out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cunningham, 29, went on to describe some of the chatter amongst WNBA stars as \u201cinappropriate,\u201d adding that she \u201ccan\u2019t repeat a lot of things that are said.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think one thing that people don\u2019t understand is the WNBA is so inappropriate,\u201d Cunningham said. \u201cLike, we are just, tight-knit. But we have had people who work for the NBA and go to the WNBA. And NBA guys, in what they do, and what they talk about, doesn\u2019t even come close to\u2026 like, we\u2019re wild. We say some crazy, crazy stuff. We\u2019re just a fun time in the W. I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cunningham has previously described herself as the Sabrina Carpenter to Clark\u2019s Taylor Swift, acknowledging that Clark has helped her and the WNBA as a whole, similarly to how the two pop singers have navigated and elevated the music industry..<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that Taylor Swift has helped Sabrina Carpenter so much,\u201d Cunningham told Us Weekly<\/a> in 2025 when she joined the Fever. \u201cAnd I think that Caitlin Clark has helped not only her teammates, but our whole league, our whole sport in general, not only here in America, but around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cTo me, it\u2019s not about competition. I\u2019m all about empowering other women. I\u2019m about helping my teammates be their best selves. I\u2019m all about being my best self. And I just feel like that if we can do that together, then great things are gonna happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m gonna let her be the star that she is, and she totally deserves it,\u201d Cunningham said of Clark. \u201cIf she needs me in the corner when I have a wide open three, then I\u2019ll be there to support her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The WNBA and WNBPA (the organization representing the players) are currently in the middle of negotiations on a collective bargaining agreement, with a potential lockout looming if the two sides cannot mutually agree to the terms by March 10.<\/p>\n

Clark\u2019s impact on the WNBA \u2014 and basketball in general \u2014 has been well documented. But now that Indiana is in position to challenge for a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

If there is a lockout, Cunningham \u2014 a self-described reality TV fan \u2014 claimed she might try to secure a cameo on the Bravo show \u201cSummer House.\u201d<\/p>\n
