This brand was intentionally designed to reflect the beauty and spirit of the valley \u2014 from the green fields that honour our agricultural roots and Kelowna\u2019s distinction as Canada\u2019s first UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, to the blue waters that define the region\u2019s landscape,\u201d said Carolyn Cody, the Lions\u2019 vice-president of business operations and marketing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rising orange sun symbolizes warmth, growth, and the energy Touchdown Kelowna will bring to the Okanagan. This is more than a game \u2014 it\u2019s a celebration of place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BC Lions President Duane Vienneau said Touchdown Kelowna is estimated to generate $70-million in economic impact. \u201cTo put it in perspective\u2026 there\u2019s been some Grey Cups in the last five years that haven\u2019t hit that number.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The BC Lions\u2019 players and staff will be housed at Okanagan College during the festival week. The post-secondary institute is the key sponsor behind the events.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets to the games go on sale Feb. 27.
